openLN
Open-source Lightning point of sale

Bitcoin is the way out.Put it on the counter.

The RIC is an always-on Lightning terminal. Staff type the amount, the customer taps a card or scans, and the sats settle in the merchant's own wallet.

The counter problem

Two moves.
No training.

The RIC lives on the counter, not on a staff member's phone. Nobody learns a wallet app. Nobody hands over a device.

  1. 01

    Staff type the amount.

Keypad, one screen, always on. Same as any card terminal.

  2. 02

Customer taps a card or scans.

An openLN card, any Bolt Card, or any Lightning wallet by QR.

  3. 03

Sats land in the merchant's wallet.

Their wallet, their keys. The same terminal also writes and wipes NTAG424 cards at the counter.

Tap-to-pay cards

A card that pays
from your wallet.

An NTAG424 DNA card linked to your openLN account. Tap it at a RIC or any terminal that takes Bolt Cards. The payment comes from a wallet you control. Freeze or wipe it from the app.

Where the money goes

A toll,
not a vault.

openLN routes the payment and takes a fee. It does not hold balances. The customer's sats are locked to a hold invoice, forwarded to the merchant's own wallet, and settled in one motion.

Your wallet connects over Nostr Wallet Connect (NIP-47). openLN never holds your keys, and there is no openLN balance to withdraw. Payments pass through. The fee is the only thing we keep.

Why you can trust it

Don't trust.
Verify.

Every claim on this page is checkable. The code is public, the hardware is open, the company is real, and your keys never leave your wallet.
